This Hello Kitty is actually clad in a green outfit, but here she sports a Halloween witch costume. Her dress has a Halloween design in pink and orange to match her pink and orange tutu. I like the choice to use pink and orange in this outfit, and especially the tones chosen. The neon orange is to represent Halloween, and the pink is to associate with Hello Kitty. It was a good decision to use a hot pink instead of the normal pink used for HK because the hot pink goes with the neon orange and Halloween style better. The witch hat and broomstick show it is a Halloween costume for a witch, but I think the tutu is a nice touch because it adds a cute factor that attracts little girls. The best part is that when Halloween is over, this costume can be taken off the HK doll, and she can wear her normal clothes again!
This pumpkin is the right shape for hello kitty’s head– jumbo sized and wide. Her eyes, nose and whiskers are set wide too to ensure a close imitation of hk. The hat is a nice touch to show its Halloween, and the bow is kept true to hk’s usual apparel. The colors in the hat are repeated in the bow. Instead of flat colors on the bow, some sparkle is used to liven it up, something to catch your eye. I also like that the typical orange and black Halloween colors are not used, but a gold shiny color is instead. Lastly, the ears are a great addition to give the final convincing that this is in fact hk and not a pumpkin.
This build-a-bear HK blanket is the perfect size for a typical build-a-bear stuffed animal, but it is also a great size for most baby dolls so it is versatile. The blanket has a shiny side that catches your eye and displays one image repeated over and over again in different colors. The colors are bright and fun. The other side of the HK blanket is soft and warm for a kid’s favorite teddy bear or baby doll. It is also pink, the pink usually associated with HK. My favorite part of this HK item is the repeated image of HK because it looks like a modern cartoon or graphic. I also am attracted to the colors chosen (like how I can see more definition on HK’s face in the lighter colored faces).
This plush hk is traditional in many ways. She has an oversized head, has a sideways facing body position and forward facing head, and wears her usual red color and white skin. I like how she has “corduroy” skin because it looks textured and isn’t what you would normally expect (like cat fur). Hk looks ready to play in her overalls. The red and blue are nice choices to contrast the white nicely.
My hawaiian friend gave this to me to remind me of her since this is a hawaiian edition of hello kitty. Plus, it is a keychain so I see it every day because I put it on my volleyball bag. This design is very effective in showing that this is a hawaiian hello kitty. She has tan skin, a hawaiian flower in place of her usual red bow on her right ear, she plays a ukulele, wears a lei on her head, and wears a grass skirt. I thought it was interesting how the word “Hawaii” is on its own separate piece. The hawaiian flower is also repeated with the word hawaii. The type used is fun and quirky. Lastly, I think the colors chosen are good because they are bright and give a tropical feel.
I love that this lunchbox is hard and soft at the same time. The red and pink colors are expected along with the way she is sitting with her legs to the side and her face full on. The silver shape is interesting because it is irregular and has high shine, highlighting hk. The band of small red hearts keeps the background from being too stagnant and makes the lunchbox be more cutesy. The type used is related to the outline of hk with its weight and curved endings and no serifs.
Hello kitty earbuds– fabulous! And they are Rhine stone encrusted for an extra bling bling look. I like that the ear buds aren’t too big, and even though they are small, hk stays true to her normal image. The details help contribute to this, like the tiny black lines that are hk’s whiskers or her small mouth and nose. The packaging is attractive and cute to little girls with pink, pink and more pink, and polka dots! Once again, my favorite part is her big red bow that always steals the show.
My best friend gave me this lanyard to use for my keys for my dorm. This pink is a different hue than the usual soft pink seen on hello kitty so it stands out more. The type is the best part of this lanyard. It is in black and white only but the bold block letters that are disjointed stand out easily. The letters all have different textures which make the type just a little more interesting. Lastly, I think the pink tone was correctly chosen because it carries its own weight even with the very heavy and interesting letters it showcases.
I got this hello kitty shirt at Kohl’s. I immediately wanted it when I saw it because of the eye catching neon green color (my favorite color is green). The cut of the shirt is also fun and funky for summer. It is a good shirt to wear over a bathing suit because the front is shorter than the back. It feels a little bohemian to me. I like the choice of red on hello kitty’s bow, overalls and the type next to her because it is a more orangey red, not as bold, and it compliments the green shirt. I like the type choice because it is bold so it carries its own weight and seems 3D.
My brother gave me this locket for my birthday. He even put pics in it for me. I really like this locket because even though it is hello kitty, it looks like real jewelry or at least more mature than most other hello kitty items. I like silver rather than gold and the slight touch of color is nice. The color chosen is, you guessed it, pink! (Or maybe you guessed red?) And where did you guess the color was? Yes, on the bow! So hello kitty’s face takes up the space of the heart-shaped locket, and she has a pink bow on. My favorite part of the necklace, though, is definitely the small silver bow so daintily placed at the closure of the necklace!
